If the injury is severe, you may have difficulty moving your foot in different directions. Next you’ll feel numbness, which means that the injury has progressed, or is more severe. The first sign of injury may be tingling on the outer edge of the leg and thigh, the area between the big toe and second toe, and the top of your foot. If there is any damage or disturbance to the highway (nerves), muscles may not work properly since electrical signals cannot be delivered to them.
